Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Birth Anniversary was observed today at ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in New Delhi.  

Home mimister Amit Shah said, ”by laying the foundation of a new era of development and Good Governance under his leadership, Atal ji made the world aware of India’s potential and instilled a sense of national pride in the public”.

A pupular leader known for moderate approach, Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister for three times. His era is known for India’s second nuclear testing (called, Pokhran-II) in1998. He took a bus ride to Lahore for peace but the aftermath was the Kargil War with Pakistan in 1999.

He was awarded Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civillian award.
