22nd of March this year is the day of celebration of festivals in India.  Several festivals are being celebrated today in different part of the country.  

Nav Samvatsar 2080: It is the first day of Indian calendar Vikram Samvat 2080 hence celebrated as Hindu New Year.

Ugadi (or Yugadi or Samvatsarādi) is New Year’s Day according to the Hindu calendar and is celebrated in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Goa.  

Navratri: Hindu festival celebrates the victory of good over evil, observed in the honour of the goddess Durga. It spans over nine nights hence the name.  

Cheti Chand (Chetri Chandra or Moon of Chaitra): Celebrated by Sindhi Hindus as new year and Jhulelal Jyanti, birthday of Uderolal or Jhulelal (the Ishta Devta of the Sindhi Hindus).  

Sajibu Cheiraoba: Celebrated as new year in Manipur  

Gudi Padwa: New year celebration observed in Maharashtra and Konkan region. Gudhi means flag, erecting flag on the houses is part of celebration.  

Navreh (or, naw rah): is Kashmiri New Year celebrated by Kashmiri Hindus. Navreh festival is dedicated to Goddess Sharika.
