Bihar Diwas: 111th Foundation Day of Bihar

Bihar is celebrating its 111th Foundation Day today. On this day, state of Bihar came into existence when it was carved out of erstwhile Bengal Presidency of British India as a separate province. 

The modern Indian state of Bihar came into being on 22nd March 1912 when it was carved out of erstwhile Bengal Presidency of British India as a separate province. On 15th November 2000, State of Jharkhand (comprising Chota Nagpur Division and Santhal Pargana Division of South Bihar) was carved out of Bihar.
