In most of the mythologies of the world (including Indian mythology), there is an idea that ‘in the world there are seven similar people’. Called doppelgängers, they are biologically unrelated look-alike, or a double, of a living person.

Richard Gere, the famed Hollywood actor and a practicing Buddhist, it seems, has one in Srivilliputhur town in Tamil Nadu state in Southern India.

Meet Dr S. Muthuraman, a general dental practitioner (GDP) based in Srivilliputhur.

He looks very much like younger Richard Gere in forties. But the similarities end there.

Unlike Richard Gere, Dr S. Muthuraman is a Chennai educated dentist who lives and works in the local community as a general dental practitioner (GDP). A great medical mind with a penchant for perfection, Muthuraman is an accomplished dentist well respected and admired in his town of Srivilliputhur famous for Andal temple.

It is said that everyone has a doppelganger; somewhere out there, that is replica of you in appearance. There are several such documented examples.
