Rahul Gandhi has declined entry of his cousin Varun Gandhi in Congress citing ideological diffrences.

During Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hoshiarpur, Punjab today, a journalist asked Rahul Gandhi if he woud welcome entry of his cousin Varun Gandhi in Congress Party. He replied, ”Varun is in BJP. My ideology does match with his ideology. I can never go to the office of RSS. My family has an ideology. Varun adopted RSS’s ideology at some point of time that he possibly endorses even today. I can not accept that. Relatiship is a diffrent matter but I have serious ideoogical differences with him”.

There have been speculations of Varun Gandhi’s entry in the Congress for sometime, before 2024 general election.

Feroze Varun Gandhi is son of Sanjay Gandhi, and grandson of Indira Gandhi. He hails from the Bharatiya Janata Party and represents Pilbhit Lok Sabha constituency. He contested from Pilibhit lok sabha constituency in 2019 general elections and won to become an MP for the third consecutive time

Both Varun amd his mother Maneka Gandhi are currently sidelined in BJP.
