Benjamin Netanyahu returns as the Prime Minister of Israel

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Chairman of Likud Party has become ninth Prime Minister of Israel today on 29th December 2022.  

This is his third stint. He was PM twice earlier during 1996-1999 and 2009-2021. He is the longest serving prime minister in the history of Israel, has served for over 15 years.

India’s PM Modi has congratulated him on this occasion.  

Heartiest congratulations @netanyahu for forming the government. Looking forward to working together to strengthen our strategic partnership. 

Benjamin Netanyahu is a strong advocate of close India-Israel relationship. Apparently, he has a personal friendship with India’s Prime Minister Modi.  

On 3rd November 2022, PM Modi had congratulated him on his electoral success, saying Mazel Tov my friend
