Mahatma Gandhi’s Anniversary observed

Prayer meet on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s anniversary was observed on 30th January at Gandhi Smriti, Rajghat in New Delhi. 

He is the most famous Indian of the modern time and is known worldwide for non-violent freedom struggle and human right campaigns. He became icon for struggle for freedom in Asia and Africa.

Deeply inspired by Lord Buddha (the greatest Indian ever), Mahatma Gandhi became role model for civil right activists like Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.  

Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (02 October 1869 – 30 January 1948) he is popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu. It was Rabindranath Tagore who first referred to him as Mahatma.
